APPDSU demands eviction drive against DRF encroachers
ITANAGAR, Feb 7: The All Papum Pare District Students Union (APPDSU) has called on
the department of Environment and Forest to immediately issue an official direction
to the DFO, Banderdewa to urgently carry out eviction drive against the illegal encroachment
done by the public over the forest land under the Durpang Reserved Forest (DRF) which

NWS condemns attack on officer
ITANAGAR, Feb 7: The Nino Welfare Society (NWS) has condemned the attack on Govt officer at Pasighat recently. While endorsing the demand of the East Siang District Unit of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Officers Association for exemplary punishment to the accused, the NWS said that crime committed by the accused should not be treated lightly as recurrence of such incidents would lower the morale of government officials/staff serving in East Siang and the state as a whole.
Ensure zero shade in vehicles: DC
PASIGHAT, Feb 7: East Siang Deputy Commissioner RK Mishra ordered DTO and Pasighat police to ensure zero shade in vehicles issuing a directive to check the tinted films and glasses that hinder the vision.
Intensifying its drive against tinted films in vehicles, the district administration with help of police removed tints on car windows from more than 200 vehicles today.
The drive also targets illegal parking and other traffic offences like riding two wheelers without helmets, people flouting signals and breaking other traffic rules.

KVK team inspects Pea and Toria fields
ITANAGAR, Feb 7: A team from KVK, Basar comprising subject matter specialists in various departments and technical officer today inspected the farmers’ fields at Lipu Namchi, Ichi Chiku, Sadi and Sago villages to monitor Pea and Toria crops covered under demonstrations and FLD programmes under ATMA West Siang.
The team discussed with the farmers on different aspects of crop production and protection, importance of improved varieties other than indigenous germplasms for higher production as well as water and nutrient management in soil.
The team found the fields of Jumdo Riram and Moyum Riram quite satisfactory and encouraged them to follow the technologies transferred by the KVK for each and every crop to get higher production.
Further, the team witnessed the poultry birds (Vanaraja) provided under TSP Programme of ICAR. The farmers were satisfied with the technical support and other activities of the KVK West Siang and ICAR, Basar.
The team encouraged them to work hard by adopting the right technology to get maximum yield from their crops.
KYO reiterates demand
ITANAGAR, Feb 7: The Kameng Youth Organization (KYO) today reiterated its demand
for immediate action against the then Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer PWD
and others under Kalaktang Division and the construction agency alleging them of
misuse of fund under special plan assistance amounting Rs 300 lacs which was meant
for the construction of culture centre at Chillipum in West Kameng. In its FIR lodged
with Kalaktang police station, KYO claimed that the amount was withdrawn with false

SERI team visits Gyan Mission Orphanage
ITANAGAR, Feb 7: New Delhi based School for Education and Research Innovation (SERI) team headed by its Managing Director Seydudin today visited the Gyan Mission Orphanage, Chimpu and interacted with the kids.

Upper Subansiri Bar Association conference held

DAPORIJO, Feb 7: The 2nd general conference cum election of Bar Association of Uppers Subansiri Distritict was convened. Various issue pertaining to law and order and legal assistance needed for the poor people were discussed during the conference.
The Bar Association, in a memorandum to Upper Subansiri Deputy Commisioner, appealed to provide a separate room for the establishment of Bar office and library within the court building so that the poor litigants can be provided legal assistance.
In view to prevent misuse of law, the meeting appealed for filing bail application through Advocate only as per the procedure prescribed under the Cr.PC by seeking the CDs of I/Os.
The memorandum further urged for deputation of trial magistrate as many cases are lying pending in the court for want of independent trial magistrate.
All the fresh and senior advocates from Upper Subansiri district attended the conference.

Very recently a former home minister of Arunachal had alleged that VIP vehicles with red beacon are being used for transportation of underground elements. Nokpa appeals people not to discriminate persons with HIV

ITANAGAR, Feb 7: Yumrin Nokpa, Generel Secretary of Arunachal Network of Positive People ArNP+ has appealed the people of the state to “hate the virus, not the person living with virus”.
Attending the Multimedia Campaign on HIV/AIDS under the theme, “Live Another Day, Journey Against AIDS” at Daporijo as Positive Speaker, Nokpa today said that there should not be any discrimination against the person with HIV adding that his ‘Positive Status’ does not pose any harm to anyone. “No one would willingly become HIV positive, it is contacted because of ignorance or indiscipline life we live in” he said. He appealed the youth to lead a disciplined life, as they are at the risk because of ignorance and tendency to experiment on anything.

Director (IEC), who is leading the MMC team in various districts of Arunachal Pradesh said that the MMC this time aims at creating an enabling environment for people living with HIV so that they can come forward voluntarily to declare their HIV status and thus contribute in the HIV control and prevention. In a meeting conducted in the Vivekandanda Public School, Daporijo, he also highlighted the various routes of HIV transmission and asked students not to discriminate or stigmatise people living HIV just because they carrying the virus.
Sushil Nalo, Chairman of VPS, Daporijo, said that education on HIV is very important at young age in order to prevent further spread of disease.

Fire guts 5 houses in Pasighat
PASIGHAT, Feb 7: Five kutcha houses at Mirku (Diking), Pasighat were reduced to ashes in a massive fire that broke out at about 12.20 PM today.
The houses gutted in the fire belonged to Rabi Dorjee, Basu Chetry Ratna Bdr. Chetry, Babu Chetry and Durga Chetry who were residing in the land of one Ogam Moyong of Mirku village.

NHPC donates blood testing kits and semi auto analyser to Anini District Hospital

ROING, Feb 07: The NHPC Ltd under its plan for Local Area Development (LAD) handed over a Semi Auto Analyser for complete blood tests along with reagents and complete accessories and diagnostic kits of Hepatitis B & C for use in the District Hospital, Anini on Wednesday.
A simple ceremony was held in the office of General Manager, Dibang Multipurpose Project (DMP) VK Rattan where the medical device was received by Dr Muchu Mihu, Medical Officer, Anini.
The occasion was attended by the executive members of All Idu Mishmi Students Union (AIMSU), including vice president Andasi Mega, general secretary Rezina Mihu and other NHPC officials.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Rattan detailed the various steps taken up by NHPC for benefit of the local residents under CSR and said the medical kit was donated considering the acute shortages of essential medical equipments in Anini.
He further said that with start of construction of Dibang project, more developmental activities will be undertaken. The Corporation plans to spend Rs 45 Crore under social development plan with Rs 30 lacs earmarked to be spent on up gradation of ITI Roing.
Another Rs 53 Crores is to be spent for creating basic amenities in the resettlement colony and Rs 22.98 Crores on R&R benefits apart from Rs 213.69 Crores to be spent for land compensation, Rattan added.

APPDSU opposes creation of Capital district
ITANAGAR, Feb 7: The All Papum Pare District Students’ Union (APPDSU) in its two recent meeting held in the last week of January and
1stweak of February decided to oppose the state cabinet decision for creation of new Pachin/Capital District and at the same time condemned the said cabinet decision which ‘has hurt sentiment of the indigenous people of the district’.
The union did not find any logic for creation of capital district by the state govt. “It is very shocking that to fulfill personal political desires in long run some state politician wants the bifurcation of Papum Pare district which we the students community of the district will never comprise to such ill intention of the corrupt MLAs/Ministers of the state,” APPDSU stated in a release. Further they added, “Last year two cabinet decisions surprised people of state when the decision was passed for regularization of the encroach govt. land and slum area bill which the public of the state has failed to understand till that about what sort of benefits they are going to get in long run out of it. The cabinet decision to regularize the govt. land itself was in violation of the central and state Govts’ Public Premises Act while Slum Area bill is a mockery in a state like Arunachal Pradesh.”
The responsible elected representative of the state should not pass such decision in cabinet which the citizen themselves are not aware of merits & demerits of it. Infact, development which is forcefully implemented is not a development rather its consequences invite destruction of the healthy society, APPDSU continued.
The cabinet decision for the creation of Pachin/Capital district was taken without the public consent of Papum Pare district. With some hidden agenda and malafide intention the elected peoples’ representatives of the state has step forwarded to play divide and rule policy. Further APPDSU demanded the state govt. to immediately reconsider the recent cabinet decision taken for the creation of Pachin/Capital district and threatened to launch series of democratic movement if decision is not recalled within next 14 days.
Consultative meet opposes inclusion of Adi village in Lower Siang

The speakers in the meeting have reiterated their demand to exclude the five Adi villages under Nari Koyu assembly constituency in the new district and asserted that forceful inclusion of these villages may invite terrible situation in the future. According to the villagers, they are availing all smooth services from East Siang administration and therefore are unwilling to go to other district.
Head Gaon Burah of Depi village Tapur Tali vowed that their villagers would never go to the new district under any circumstance. Another Gaon Burah of the village Onang Eko said the people have repeatedly placed their demand before the government which is still unheard. He criticized the role of their MLA Tako Dabii alleging his inaction to raise the people’s grievances before the state government.

He demanded the HPC to conduct hearing on creation of Lower Siang district at Depi village to avoid further complicacy.
In the meeting, public leader from Ruksin Tamat Saroh, Pasighat block ABK president Talu Dai, Ngorlung Head Gaon Burah Rende Panyang, Debing HGB Yon Yomso and executives of AdiSU and other student leaders have also spoke and expressed their solidarity over the ongoing movement against forceful inclusion of Adi villages in Lower Siang. The meeting unanimously adopted resolutions to constitute a “Coordination Committee” for taking up the matter with the state government. It also resolved to conduct rally at Pasighat and in Itanagar and to boycott poll in the next elections if their demand is unheard.
ITANAGAR, Feb 7: The Students’ Union of Dera Natung Govt College, (DNGCI) has urged the authorities concerned to nab the attackers on DNGCSU general secretary before February 10 and give exemplary punishment to the accused. It demanded the authorities to install CCTV camera at strategic point of college for safety and security. The Union further threatened to call 12 hours capital bandh if the authorities fail to nab the culprits within the given time.
Arunachal Pradesh College Teachers’ Association, Dera Natung Government College Itanagar unit condemned the physical assault on DNGC students union General Secretary on February five last.
The APCTA unit appealed to the administration to bring the culprits to book immediately and initiate stern actions against them.

Govt. land encroachers evicted from Daporijo Airfield area

DAPORIJO, Feb 7: Upper Subansiri district administration with help of police conducted a drive to evict illegal land encroachers at Airfield area, near New Market Daporijo today.
Many houses and fencing erected illegally in government land by the encroachers have
been evicted during the day-
It was found that, most of the houses and fencing were erected in the Airfield by crossing the canal made for the movement of waste water which also serves as boundary of the Airfield.
Most of the dwellers were rearing pigs in the area by constructing pig shed. However, some pigs found wandering in the Airfield making the area dirty and unhygienic.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Tahang Taggu, Dy. Director. DUDA H. Welley and Magistrate Sode Potum inspected the daily bazaar under renovation and surveyed the area for upgrading the daily bazaar for comfortable movement of commuters and vendors. They also discussed regarding the construction of parking area in the daily bazaar and asked the vegetable vendors and other public to keep the area clean.
However, the DC inspected the bamboo selling area and asked the bamboo sellers to shift their bamboos from airfield to the notified location. Failing to comply with the order to shift within given period would lead to seizure of bamboos, the DC cautioned.
The drive will continue till the encroachments are removed from the area, the DC said and appealed to the denizens of the township to cooperate with the govt. in its endeavor to make Daporijo a planned, neat and clean town.

Through your daily I would like to share my experience. I am one of the bonafide

Since, from the date of my appointment as casual labour, I have been serving the
department with dedication and sincerity starting from un-
But, I am very sorry to inform you that due to lackadaisical attitude of WRD I am
still in casual cadre and not getting any chance for regularization of my service
though persons far juniors to me had already availed the benefit of regular service.
Till date, I have spent 25 years of my valuable life for the cause of the department,
with the hope of getting regular service one day. All the codal formalities had been
maintained by me, like I had obtained the experience / character certificate from
my employer i.e. Executive Engineer, WRD Daporijo Division and Assistant Engineer,

Further, I am to appraise that there was a cabinet decision regarding appointment of all casual employee as regular who had served continuously for more than 15 years in various departments. In this way I had attained the said service length 10 (ten) years back but still could not get any regular / officiating / Temporary appointment till date but person far junior to me were appointed as W/C (Work charge) officiating and Temporary and many other had been appointed directly as W.C (work charge) in violation of the cabinet note. Therefore, I am to inform the active leader of Labours Union, general public, Media personal, student leader and public leader with a hope that you will pursue the matter with the appropriate authority i.e S.E. Daporijo circle and C.E. Itanagar for my regularization, so that I may see that my service is regularized before my death.

What Happened to CM Talent Award?

This is in reference to the scholarship “CM Talent Award” announced by former Chief
Minister Lt. Dorjee Khandu during his Chief Minister-

to reward the toppers of Class X Students of the respective secondary schools with

My question to the concerned authorities is that why aren’t they providing any correspondence to the circle officers. It has been 2 (two) years since the scheme was passed. I hope that the noble start taken by former Chief Minister to encourage the students of Govt. Schools will not be wasted and the authorities will take the delayed issue seriously and reward the selected students with the assured award.
